Gun Control Is Not The Solution To Gun Violence
In recent times, the United States has found itself enveloped by a grim specter of domestic terrorism, culminating in multiple tragic events. Instances like the racially motivated massacre in a Buffalo, New York grocery store or the shocking school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, by a young adult, have left a trail of sorrow and deep-seated fear across the nation. Both incidents took away many innocent lives, leading to growing public demand for stricter gun control laws.
However, this call for additional restrictions on the Second Amendment—the constitutional right to keep and bear arms—can be viewed as a narrow-minded approach laden with danger. Over the years, the U.S. government has progressively enacted laws to tighten the regulations around purchasing and possessing guns. Despite these actions, the country has observed an uptick in gun violence, mass incarcerations, and a decline in the capability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves against armed criminals.
